  • Funniest Wheeling Incident: After having a trouble-free three-day wheeling trip in Arizona we got on the highway only to have the alternator die in the middle of I-10 in west Texas. Luckily I had my spare!

  • Suspension: Custom solid-axle conversion with 1/2-ton Chevy leaves in the rear and Toyota rear springs in the front.
  • Drivetrain: Toyota mini-truck axles, E-locker front, Lock Right rear, 5.29 gears
  • Performance Mods: 22RE, port and polished head, TRD cam, header, and 2-inch custom exhaust
  • Other Doodads: A/C compressor converted to air pump, custom rock sliders and bumpers, onboard cameras
  • Does everything work the way you want?: It still has some bugs, but overall it works great
  • Anything you would change?: 4:1 transfer case gears
  • Anything to add?: Always remember to tread lightly and pack out what you pack in!

Send us a picture of your ride if you've never done so. We keep a surplus of Readers' Rides submissions, but only one submission per person, and we love all off-road vehicles so send in your entries whether your rig is stock or not. Make sure each digital image is at least 1,600 by 1,200 pixels (or two megapixels) and saved as a TIFF, EPS, or maximum-quality JPEG file.
