Vance DeMars didn’t set out to build the ultimate hunting vehicle; it just turned out that way. He says, “As soon as I bought the truck I put an IFS lift kit on it, but after a few deer and chukar hunting trips the steering and a couple of crossmembers were completely destroyed.” So the independent front suspension was removed for a Dana 60 with leaf springs and a Detroit Locker for anvil-like reliability.
The rest of the truck has been purpose-built for hunting also, with additions like the dog boxes on the flatbed, room for a quad, and enough lighting to turn nighttime in the Nevada desert into the middle of day. All that capability is combined with the massive torque of the Duramax diesel engine and the luxury of leather seats and a full Pioneer sound system from Nevada Auto Sound in the cab. The result is the ultimate truck for more than just hunting trips.
