By the time 1962 rolled around, the Jeep was tooled up and Jim Marski’s ’64 Wagoneer two-door shows you the “final answer.” Though it’s a couple of years newer than the first production units, it’s virtually identical. The two-door was optional through 1967, when it was discontinued. The two-door body reappeared in 1974 when the Cherokee version of the SJ platform was introduced. “SJ” is derived from “Senior Jeep,” which is how the big Jeeps were called in internal factory documents.
