Under the FJs hood is a powerful Chevrolet Performance Ram Jet 350ci V-8 engine. Out of the crate this fuel-injected ’plant is capable of putting out 350hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. In addition to all its cool standard features, like hydraulic roller camshaft, hypereutectic flat-top pistons, iron Vortec heads, roller rockers, and 9.4:1 compression, the engine is fitted with Sanderson ceramic-coated headers and a custom 3-inch-diameter exhaust system. Other underhood mods include a reconditioned factory wiring harness and an Odyssey battery. The engine is fed by a Man-A-Fre 29-gallon fuel tank that is located under both front seats of the FJ. The Ram Jet is cooled by a Man-A-Fre V-8 radiator kit with a two-row aluminum crossflow radiator and mechanical fan. The engine is mated to a stock Toyota H55F five-speed overdrive transmission, rebuilt of course, that rests on a custom mount, has a Centerforce clutch, and a granny First gear ratio of 4.843:1.
