To get some extra height under the ’79 K5, the Semmler family employed a set of Rough Country leaf springs front and rear for 6 inches of all-spring lift. Heavy-duty shackles replaced the stock units, and a dual shock setup allowed two Rancho 5000s per side. Dual shock kits have been proven to be a good way to lessen the sway of a lifted solid axle Blazer or Suburban.
