Another favorite is the Long Range Desert Group (LRDG) jeep used by the British SAS in WWII. This jeep was a reproduction of the same and was finished off in desert tan and machine guns for the Smith Collection. Specially built for long-range desert patrols in the sand dunes of North Africa, it was popularized in the ’60 TV show The Rat Patrol. We even duplicated this type of trip in our May and July ’13 issues in similar jeeps (“Sahara Desert DED Tour”). Director Logan likes to wheel around the Omix-ADA warehouse in the jeep, because he can!
