Jeep engines were designed to run all day spinning PTOs. This ’46 flathead is running a feed mixer and a hydraulic auger at the same time. The PTO-equipped Jeeps were most often equipped with a belt-driven governor, which you can see just in front of the exhaust manifold. You set the engine speed with a hand throttle and the governor maintains it, regardless of load.
