The original closed-knuckle, drum brake-equipped, Dana 60 front axle has been replaced by a Dana 60 that was sourced from the donor Ford F-350 pickup. The axle is fitted with an Eaton Detroit Locker, Sierra Gear & Axle 4.10 gears, and Warn Premium manual locking hubs. The 40-inch Xterrain tires are pointed via a steering system that includes a custom GM power steering pump, Toyota pitman arm and steering box, PSC Motorsports hydraulic-assist steering system, customized steering shaft with Borgeson U-joints, PSC cooler, and high-mount steering arm. The truck retains the stock leaf springs, but they’ve been moved from under the axle to over to help the axle clear the new Ford engine crossmember. A set of Pro Comp ES3000 shocks are used to keep everything in check.
