The ’Yota has a NV4500 five-speed manual transmission resting on a custom mount; South Bend Clutch flywheel; and triple-disc clutch. The transmission is mated to an Advance Adapters Atlas 2 4.3:1 ratio transfer case with Advance Adapters cable-operated twin-stick control. Sprouting from the T-case is a pair of Oceanside Driveline-built driveshafts and each is fitted with 1410 U-joints. On the left side of this image you can see the 3⁄16-inch-thick steel plate that is part of the rocker protection. Mounted behind the plate is one of the Odyssey batteries. There’s an identical setup on the passenger side of the vehicle.
