Power comes from the factory 4.0L V-6, which is rated at 160 hp and 220 lb-ft of torque. It retains the factory air conditioning and cruise control for comfort and still provides enough room for the ARB air compressor and crossover tube that ties together the coilover shock mounts. Behind the V-6 is an A4LD automatic transmission and an Atlas II transfer case with a custom skidplate. The Atlas bolts right up to the factory transmission and, with a 5:1 low range ratio, allows the Ranger to tip-toe through the rocks.
