Xcentrix Motorsports Chevy Prerunner
We recently dropped by Xcentrix Motorsports and Fabrication (XMF) in Mesa, Arizona, to meet brothers Jimmy Adams and Chad Lien. From there, we ventured out into the sand to shoot their built 2000 Silverado prerunner. These two guys spent much of their teen years tinkering with mechanical toys and developed a passion for building off-road rigs. That hobby has turned into a small business where they do vehicle upgrades and mods. This truck shows off a bit of their latest handiwork.
Their Silverado started life when the Jimmy bought the truck rolling on 20-inch wheels as a street ride. It didn’t take long for that to change with a simple spindle lift and conversion to 35-inch dirt treads. The truck ran around like that for a few years until the guys dove in and made some more serious changes to it.
Most notable is the installation of their ’99-to-’06 2WD Chevy Silverado 1500 long-travel front suspension kit. Their affordable kit offers greater dirt capability from 16 inches of front travel, while widening the stance. With suspension tweaks, drivetrain mods, and some custom steel work, the brothers have turned this Chevy into a fun weekend runner that serves double duty as a daily driver.
