One problem with the Unitbody construction is that it leaves the XJ and MJ susceptible to rust damage or stress cracks. We’ve worked on only lightly rusted eastern XJs, and it sucks. If we were you, we’d hold out for a clean XJ with little rust. Be leary of any Unitbody Jeep that has been in an accident. It’s not like you can swap a bent frame on one of these Jeeps. If the Unitbody is damaged, repair is dubious at best.
