Generally speaking the Dana 35 rear is a fine axle for a stock YJ. Unfortunately most abuse their Dana 35 with larger tires, lockers, and heavy throttle attacks. It’s not the Dana 35’s fault, but chances are you are gonna wanna swap it out before spending any dough on it. The factory high-pinion front Dana 30 with center axle disconnect (pictured) is a decent axle as long as it is maintained. Later ’95 and ’96 YJs should have stronger 760X-size axle U-joints.
