Gone is the ZJ’s original 4.0-liter inline-six engine. In its place is a 5.9-liter Mopar V-8. The Grand was actually offered with a 5.9-liter in 1998, which made the conversion relatively easy. Helping the engine breath is a custom stubby intake and Doug Thorley headers. The three-row brass radiator gets cooling aid from an electric fan plucked from a ’90s Ford Thunderbird. Increased stopping force comes by way of an ’86 Ford E-350 master cylinder and brake booster.
