Now this was stylin’ for 1967! The V-8-powered Scout 800s were considered a separate model because of the many differences needed to fit the engine. Add to that the unique Sportop Convertible option and this is one notable Scout. This one was built in June of 1967, and by then, it was clear to IH that the Sportops weren’t selling as well as hoped. Plus, they required a lot of outside-sourced parts. By the end of the year, it had been decided to discontinue them after only two years in production. For 1967, only 214 Sportop Convertibles were built.
