While it’s showing its age, the truck is pretty much original and in good unrestored condition. It had a very active history not many other Jeeps can match. It was sold to the Riverton, Wyoming, fire department and served there into the ’90s. In 1988, when it was 25 years old, it pumped continuously for 13 days from the Clark Fork River during the Clover Mist Fire from September to October 1988. That was apparently the largest fire in Yellowstone National Park history and consumed 156,000 acres.
