October 2011 Jeep Game

“I have an idea. How about this month for the puzzle, we run a photo of hundreds of Grand Cherokees and then tell the readers to find the one Compass?” See why we keep our sadistic Art Director, Alan Huber? While we love his thinking (as well as receiving hate mail from Compass owners), we have opted instead to test your musical prowess. You probably know Tech Editor Hazel fancies himself a musician in his spare time (he ain’t bad, actually), but for the rest of us, our live performances have been limited to the first grade and the recorder. Come to think of it, there was one recorder for a class of 15 kids. No wonder there’s plague.

We’ve tracked down a bunch of songs that in some way, shape, or form involve the word Jeep. Your job is to match the artist to the title of the song, while your job in the bonus section is to match the lyric to the artist. We haven’t included every Jeep-referenced song that exists, but have offered a diverse sampling of rap, pop, jazz, bluegrass, and even alternative (plug “Julian Smith + Jeep” into YouTube for that one).
