How about a lightly modified ’67 CJ-5 for a parts runner? It has an F-head four-banger bolted to a T-98 four-speed and a Spicer 18 with a Warn Overdrive. There are Power-Loks in the Dana 27 front and Dana 44 rear axles. Other trick parts include vintage Warn locking hubs, a clean Saginaw manual steering conversion, a vintage Sunpro tach, and a rare two-hole passenger-side knuckle (allowing a flatter drag link on the Saginaw conversion). Tarvin has had this rig 12 years but the F-head recently lost compression. Influenced by our own Project Ground-Up, he may be adding a retroized MPI 2.5L out of a ’93 YJ and an SM420 or Ford T-18.
