Currently under construction is Tarvin’s ’47 CJ-2A. He came across the body, frame, and axles at a junkyard while looking for a transmission. He was told it was headed to the crusher, so $150 later, Mike had yet another Jeep. That’s a tub, fenders, frame, windshield, and tailgate for $150! Currently he is building it as a retro crawler with a 252ci Buick V-6 at the machine shop. His plans include lockers, an SM420, a Spicer 18, 4.88s, and a Saturn Overdrive. Axles are a Dana 30 front with Warn hubs and disc brakes and an offset Dana 44 rear; both with 4.88 gears. Suspension will most likely be spring under with early CJ-5 leaf springs.
