The proof for an SC-1 comes a few of ways. Most important—the metal SSR & O tag. They were glued to the firewall and decades down the road many have fallen off. This one on Dennis’ rig fell off as we were getting ready to photograph it. The only known SC-1 SSR & O number is D5247. Other clues are found on the paint and trim tags above. Anytime you see a “999” paint code, it’s for special paint. Any special paint had the same code and you only knew which paint by consulting with Jeep directly. They didn’t print a catalog of SSR & O details. The 334 Trim Code indicates the Charcoal-colored interior.
