I’m betting you haven’t heard yet, but there’s some exciting news here at TEN. We got married. Actually, that’s not accurate. We got joint-ventured. We are now part of the Discovery Communications family and they are part of us. So, as TEN: The Enthusiast Network pulls into the hangar to cool its jets, it is wheels-up and full afterburners for TEN: A Discovery Communications Company. As this is being written, we are still working out the logistics, but we’re pretty stoked on the possibilities. Maybe we can weasel Tech Editor Verne into an episode of Deadliest Catch. Wouldn’t you like to see him as the surly new bait boy for Sig Hansen on the Northwestern? Or maybe we’ll invite Freddy Dodge and that Parker kid from Gold Rush to go wheeling with us on the Ultimate Adventure in one of their huge rock trucks.
All that is speculation on my part. But what’s not speculation is that, in addition to the prospect of new endeavors on the horizon, we have kept the hammer down creating all the original programming that you have already come to love. Like Ultimate Adventure Week on Motor Trend’s YouTube channel (youtube.com/user/MotorTrend) and on Motor Trend OnDemand (motortrendondemand.com). Every year we drag a fully dedicated film crew and a professional director around with us everywhere we go on the Ultimate Adventure to catch all the action, fun, and adventure, so even if you’re not with us on the trail you can still tag along from your living room.
