Fab Fours Rear Bumper Install - Fab Fours Dodge Ram BumperPosted in How To on September 11, 2008
We are the kind of people who believe that bumpers are made for bumping. Unfortunately, the manufacturers of late-model trucks don't agree with us. The bumpers on these new vehicles are more cosmetic than functional. Our stock rear bumper had been significantly dented after just a few minor "love taps," and friends kept asking, "What happened to your bumper?" Our only reply was, "We bumped something - we thought that was what it was for."
Enough was enough! We needed a new rear bumper that could handle the way we used our truck. Not just any bumper would do though. We wanted a tough bumper that also looked good. Upon visiting Fab Fours' website, we knew we had found the bumper that fit our needs.
What first caught our attention was the look and design of Fab Fours' bumper. The lines and size of the bumper work well with the body of the truck. Some other nice features are the 1/4-inch keyed and gusseted mounts, 3/16-inch construction, and 1-inch D-ring mounts.
We called the folks at Fab Fours and placed an order for an '03-'08 Dodge Ram rear bumper. They not only had it in stock but shipped it out the very day we called! Same-day service is getting rarer and rarer in this world.
We couldn't be more pleased with the quality and craftsmanship. This bumper is way more than just a cosmetic upgrade, and strength was clearly a factor when Fab Fours came up with this design.
We hate to disappoint you, but no, we did not go out and back into something to test the strength of the new bumper. We are certain, though, that due to the construction and materials, the Fab Fours bumper will provide a great deal of protection - hopefully more than we will ever need.
What we can comment on is the experience we had ordering and installing the new bumper. The entire process was very easy. Fab Fours was very helpful and prompt in delivering its product. Furthermore, installation was a breeze, everything fit perfectly, and the included instructions led us step by step. In the end, we improved both the look and durability of our truck without making any compromises.
