Our '03 Super Duty has changed many, many times over the years. Editor-In-Chief Jerrod Jones calls it the STD. That's generous. I'd call it a PO ... well, you know. The STD has some good parts on it, and the engine is finally running the way it should have long ago thanks to some parts and tuning from Banks Engineering and Diesel Tech. When the Super Duty was handed to me in '04, it had a finely crafted bed cage in place. While the bed cage was well-made, it took up the whole bed, and turned what should have been a good hauler into a useless show pony. The bed cage had to go, and the shocks needed to go under the bed. I built upper and lower shock mounts around custom short-body Bilstein 7100's and the Deaver springs that were already in place. The suspension was cycled using a forklift, and careful measurements were taken before the axle mounts were welded on.
