Pro Comp 8-Inch Triple XXX Ford Super Duty Coil Over Lift Kit

Let's skip with the catchy introductions or the fancy compliments. Simply stated, we have never rode or driven in a Super Duty truck that handles and drives as well as Pro Comp's 8-inch Triple XXX Ford Super Duty. If you are looking for the ultimate in off-road (and on-road) ability out of your 2005-or-newer Ford Super Duty and money is no object, then you need to step up to a Triple XXX coilover (front and rear) suspension.

Costing just under $10,000, this is the most expensive production suspension made for Super Dutys. But now that we've experienced a Super Duty with this kit on it we can't imagine buying one of these fancy new trucks and not spending an extra ten large to make ours the king Super Duty.

If you've ever been to Plaster City, California, or seen any videos of that area, then you know how gnarly the whoops section is that parallels the highway just a few feet away. We went through those whoops at 40 mph in Pro Comp's Super Duty. We'd never take any other Super Duty through there at more than 10 mph; it would kill us and the truck to even try to do so. So, when we say this kit is worth it, we mean it's worth it. No, not everyone needs to be able to rail a mega-bucks 1-ton Super Duty across the desert. But if that is your intention, then this is the kit for you.

How Did We Like It?
Like we stated earlier, we have never been in a Super Duty that handles so well both off-road and on-road. We actually followed this F-250 to the photo shoot in our own project Super Duty, and we just could not keep up with it on the windy single-lane roads we were on. The Triple XXX Super Duty was extremely smooth and cornered excellently. Bumps in the road that would throw our own Super Duty out of control were simply absorbed in the Triple XXX Super Duty. Even on 38.5-inch Pro Comp tires, the Triple XXX kit still handled windy roads and uneven pavement better than a stock truck.Off-road, this truck was no slouch either. We were honestly just scared to push the truck really hard (due to past experiences with multiple Super Dutys) in the dirt, but after constant encouragement and taunting from the Pro Comp guys, we got into the throttle to see what the truck would do, and honestly it was just amazing at how well the suspension would flex and soak up the bumps. Our one complaint would have to be the rear track bar. Since this truck has a factory saddle fuel tank that gets in the way of adding a triangulated four-link in the rear, a track bar must be used. And due to design, all track bars give some sideways motion to the axle. Pro Comp did an excellent job at keeping that side hop to a minimum, but when the rear end started fully oscillating over the whoops, we could feel the rear end walking sideways a little. But this was only in the most extreme off-road conditions, and likely something that no intelligent and sane Super Duty owner would ever likely come even close to experiencing.
