5. It was time to tear the engine down to just the block. Once everything was disassembled we had to number the pistons and rods so we could get a good idea of how cylinders were burning. Despite the high miles all the internal parts were in really good shape. The bearings looked good and all the pistons were burning pretty evenly. We did a cylinder leak down test before disassembly and only found cylinder No. 1 to have 50-percent leak down and No. 2 had 15 percent. Cylinders No. 3 and No. 4 were only 5 percent! (Anything less than 8 percent is outstanding).
