It's now time to re-install the coil spring. If you use your vehicle in a harsh winter climate, as is the case here, you'll want to smear anti-seize compound on some of the mating surfaces. As such, anti-seize was applied to the shock body threads and to the contact surface of the preload adjusting collar. "Put anti-seize on set screws, spacers, basically anything that's touching something else," Bell said. Brian also advises periodically spraying WD-40 all over your coilovers a few times during the winter if you live in a harsh climate. "WD-40 all over your shocks will look messy, but it will protect your shocks against corrosion," he informed.
