Have you ever taken a modified rig to an alignment shop, only to find out they don't wanna touch it? We have. Not to worry, as you can align your rig DIY-style with some basic measurements. John Currie demonstrates how to measure toe-in. Find a consistent location on your tires, such as a lug. Measure the distance between these points in front of the axle. Then measure the distance between the same two points behind the axle. Adjust the tie rod until the measurements are nearly identical. One-eighth of an inch of toe-out (front measurement greater than the rear) can help straight-line tracking.
