30. The final piece to the carrier assembly was to lightly tap the center pin back into the carrier and replace its retaining bolt (with red thread locker applied). At this point, we reinstalled the differential cover and added gear lube, along with the friction modifier additive. A quick test drive revealed no whine or abnormal noises from the axle and we were content knowing we had restored the limited slip action of our rear axle. With the few tools we described, you should be able to duplicate our efforts with the help of a friend in a long afternoon, give or take.
