A snatch strap is used in place of a recovery strap when you need some extra pulling force. A snatch strap is designed to stretch and store kinetic energy that in turn recoils to help thrust a stuck vehicle in the direction of the pull. The Smittybilt snatch strap is capable of 20 percent stretch under load and can handle up to 17,000 pounds of force. Unstretched it measures almost 18 feet and stretches to 30 feet.
