Typically, when you buy a used vehicle, you should walk away from the sale with a signed and notarized title in hand. Be sure to check if the title lists the vehicle as “salvage” or if there is a lien holder listed. Buying a vehicle without a title can lead to legal headaches, unless you are sure there are specific provisions for you to file for a lost or abandoned title, or to purchase a title bond.
