Find Your Truck, Anywhere!: Eclipse Engineering’s ArrowTrack Tracking Devices

Are you worried about your prized original or custom vehicle? If not, you should be. You have your busy life to deal with and you can’t babysit your precious ride 24/7, making sure it doesn’t move a foot from where you parked it…or can you?

New GPS locating systems are becoming more affordable, and are a lot easier way to ensure your vehicle won’t stay in the hands of anyone but you, the registered owner. That’s why we recently added Eclipse Engineering’s ArrowTrack tracking devices to a couple of vehicles in our fleet.

The tracking system is done with real-time data that you can access by logging into your ArrowTrack account. You can log on and verify your vehicle’s location without any police or parent company involvement. This means that, if your ride gets nabbed, you can immediately start the recovery process yourself.

ArrowTrack Features

  • Texts and emails you when your vehicle is moved
  • Text and emails you when the battery is low, disconnected, or reconnected
  • Has an adjustable GEOfence that gives boundary alerts
  • Can text/email if a pre-set speed is exceeded
  • Can give alarm reports if optional wire is hooked up
  • Coverage crosses the entire continental USA
  • Can be used for vehicle recovery, or for vehicle monitoring of younger drivers
  • Usable in 6- or 12-volt electrical systems

The ArrowTrack tracking device can be placed under glass, wood, or plastic, but you must keep it out from under metal that will block the signal to the unit. Some suggestions include under a car seat, behind a glovebox (in a plastic dash), in the grille, or located straight on top of a flat-top off-road bumper since its water resistant. We slipped one under the plastic middle console of our Jeep, but we’re not going to show you exactly where; we don’t want to help potential thieves!

Once the unit is wired into your vehicle you’ll need to create an account with ArrowTrack using the tracking device’s ESN (serial number). Your account stores your vehicle’s VIN and any other information that police might immediately need to get your truck or 4x4 back to you as quickly as possible.

While the ArrowTrack will not stop your vehicle from being stolen, it will silently and immediately alert you to your vehicle’s movement. Once you’ve verified that the vehicle has been stolen, police will take care of the rest. The quicker you can react, the better the chances of getting your prized ride back before someone butchers or ships it offshore.
