Trail dirt can swallow a dropped key whole. Carry a spare ignition key. This goes double if you’ve got a key with a coded chip embedded inside. Another word to the wise: Keep your keychain’s weight down. If you hang all of the rest of your keys off of your ignition key, you’ll wear out the key and the ignition cylinder much faster.
