A T-handle positively engages the free-spool clutch through multiple, evenly spaced locking holes for pulling the rope out. The entire clutch can be rotated on the housing to clock the T-handle in a variety of positions, depending on hand access to the T-handle when the winch is mounted. With the spool engaged, an automatic full-load cone brake system (CBS) holds the line load. The CBS generates more braking force as more line load is put on the winch. It’s actually mounted externally of the drum so it dissipates heat faster.
