Hardcore Dana 60 Hubs

When it comes time to choose hubs for your front D60 axle, you have two basic choices. Drive flanges (slugs) may be your best choice for a trail rig where you want simplicity and ultimate strength. But, in applications where you want to be able to free-spin your front hubs, strong and reliable locking hubs give you the confidence that you can lock and unlock the front shafts at will.

We recently chose to upgrade the locking hubs on the D60 front axle on Project Venture Toy and looked to Yukon for a set of their Hardcore Locking Hubs. These are heavy-duty lockouts with a simple 1/3-turn lock and unlock action. The outer hub body and dial are steel construction and the hub is low-profile to keep it tucked in the wheel and away from the rocks.

With the help of the excellent illustrated instructions, we completed the installation in less than an hour and the Yukons went onto our wheel hubs easily. The next day we hit backcountry trails in search of snow. The hubs performed flawlessly, and lock and unlock actions are easily done with a quick twist of the dial.
