Compressing Air On Board Compressor Compressor Installed

This is a York A/C compressor commonly found on older cars from the ’60s through the early ’80s, generally in Fords and Jeeps. This is probably the best engine-driven compressor to use for onboard air because Yorks have a little crankcase much like an engine. This crankcase holds oil that lubricates the little pistons inside. Other compressors don’t have an internal oil source and get their only lubrication from oils added to the refrigerant that the A/C system is charged with.
