We aligned the end pieces of pipe to the center piece of pipe by putting the uncut points together on the front and the points with a 1⁄2-inch cut off together on the back. We tacked them in place and returned them to the truck to see how it looked. We measured the angles of each side, but although they were equal the ends looked crooked, so we opted to make them look right. We finish-welded one side and then made the other side match that side so the body-to-end gaps were equal.
