Another way to hide some of your beginner fabrication flaws is a good coat of paint. We like the old-fashioned red primer since it covers well and lets us know where we missed with the paint. Powdercoat is cool if you can afford it, but we have found that some of the hammered finish paints available cover well and give a texture that helps hide imperfections.
