For the first 45 miles or so we were doing great. We passed some people, and some people passed us. The Jeep felt strong and competent, and we were excited about our chances of a strong finish. Then John Currie, the eventual winner, passed us like we were standing still, and we realized a win would require him having carnage and not us.
