Many of us don't notice our soft top until we can't see out the windows, the zippers break, or we rip the canvas. Then we curse the tent over our head for not lasting as long as we think it should. Well, the truth that you might not want to hear is that the soft top is a maintenance item, and there are a bunch of things you can do to keep your old top functional for a little bit longer, or to keep your new top in tip top shape.

We can't honestly sit here and tell you how many years you will extend the life of your top by following these tips. The fact of the matter is that the life of a soft top is different for each of us, and it depends on how we use the Jeep, what area of the country we live in, and so forth. What we can tell you is that by following these tips, you'll get a longer life out of your top, zippers, and windows and save a few bucks in the long run.
