If you’re MIG welding with solid-core wire and shielding gas, you’ll need to make sure the welder is set up for positive polarity. Attach the ground clamp connector to the Negative (-) terminal inside the machine and the short cable from the wire drive to the Positive (+) terminal. The Power Mig 180 Dual comes set up for reverse-polarity flux-core welding with the short cable to the Negative (-) terminal, so be sure to check.
