Set the welder output for the material thickness you’re welding. With the Spoolmate 200, you adjust the wire speed at the gun, not on the welder. For our initial test run on 1⁄4-inch-thick aluminum, we set the welder output to 65 percent and the wire speed on the spool gun to 4. With aluminum, it’s best to run the voltage hot and the wire faster for deep penetration into the material.
