The Jeep would not start because someone had swapped on a small electric fuel pump that was not moving enough fuel to the carb. We also noticed that the brackets had popped off the radiator. We’ve fixed that before on other Jeeps using solder and a small MAP gas torch. The brakes were new, along with a new catalytic converter, exhaust, and freshly (and professionally) rebuilt carburetor. Someone had also spent quite a bit of time and energy fixing up the Jeep’s entire vacuum system. We were pretty sure we could tackle the remaining problems plaguing the former owner fairly quickly and easily. Guess what? Not so fast!
