Here, on a normally charged battery, a large part of the active lead sponge is coated by a hardened crystalline lead sulfate, effectively robbing the battery of much of its performance potential. Consequently, the battery becomes harder to charge and won't be able to deliver the same amounts of electricity, making everything electrical in your vehicle work less efficiently.
