It is always a good idea to put a new clutch on a new engine. You’ll need to resurface your flywheel too. If you are swapping engines over a weekend, make sure there is a shop in your town that will do it on a Saturday. Our clutch and flywheel were worn very badly, thanks to a blown pilot bearing. We opted to hang a Centerforce flywheel and clutch off the crank forgoing any machining. The bronze pilot bushing is from Advance Adapters and will outlast our factory needle-bearing pilot.
