Having a spacious wheelwell is a definite bonus when getting the most out of your suspension. Allowing the tire to stuff into the opening gives you the ability to keep the rig lower to the ground and still maintain uptravel. Although uptravel is important, keeping your vehicle's center of gravity low is just as important. Unless you are building a sky-high mud bogger, it's a good idea to keep your vehicle low and use a suspension system that keeps the vehicle's roll center as close to the ground as possible.
