Lifted and Leveled

Perhaps it’s a weakness that we need to modify and tinker with every rig we own, but the fact remains that with a little more lift we can add larger tires for better on- and off-highway performance. Suspension leveling kits will not only fix the nose-down, rear-up syndrome associated with many factory suspensions, but it will also give the rig more ground clearance when larger tires are installed and make your rig look like it’s supposed to.

The following guide lists a number of leveling kits for late-model vehicles. It includes torsion keys, strut extensions, coil spacers, and lift blocks, which will help get the job done quickly, easily, and economically. The kits are designed to level Chevy, Dodge, Ford, GM, Nissan, and Toyota. If you don’t find a kit for your rig then check out the manufacturers’ websites or give them a ring. We’re sure you will find what you need.

’09-’10 Ford F-150 BDS Suspension’s leveling system uses both a top spacer and a preload spacer, which not only increases performance in cornering, but offsets the increased tire weight to maintain a quality ride. The use of a preload spacer keeps the upper ball joint from maxing out when the suspension droops. A 1-inch rear block kit is also available. Information: BDS Suspension, 517.279.2135,

Nissan Leveling
The 2- to 212-inch Calmini leveling kit is designed for the ’05-’11 Nissan Frontier, Xterra, and Pathfinder and the ’05-’11 Suzuki Equator. The complete kit consists of machined aluminum spacers finished in a high-quality blue anodized finish. The kit comes with laser-cut rear shackle plates, matching metric sleeves, and complete replacement hardware. This system will allow for increased articulation, ground clearance, and larger off-road tires. Information: Calmini Products Inc., 800.345.3305,

’07-’11 Toyota Tundra
CST Performance Suspension offers a billet aluminum 2-inch front leveling coilover spacer for 2WD and 4WD Toyota Tundras. With a one- or two-hour installation, you can give your Tundra a more level look, which will allow the installation of larger tires for better performance. King Shocks
King’s OEM performance shock upgrade kits provide a bolt-on suspension system that elevates the vehicle and improves on- and off-road performance. Each kit is 100 percent bolt-on and is available for Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Jeep, Nissan, Hummer, and Toyota. Most kits level your vehicle, provide an adjustable ride height, and increase wheel travel up to 25 percent. Rear kits allow a 15 percent travel increase. Large 212-inch-diameter shock bodies and external reservoirs increase fluid capacity and heat dissipation to provide sustained damping performance. Jeep Adjustable Coil Spacer
The billet aluminum adjustable coil spacer by JKS Manufacturing is a variable-height coil spacer that allows you to alter the ride height on your Jeep without removing any suspension components. The ACOS is specifically designed to accommodate weight changes to your vehicle. Whether adding clearance for larger tires, compensating for heavy accessories, or trimming an unlevel vehicle, the spacer system ensures that you can easily establish proper rake regardless of your load requirements. ’07-’11 Jeep JK Wrangler
The Full-Traction 2-inch Leveling Lift Kit is the simple and inexpensive way to clear larger tires while increasing ground clearance and improving suspension articulation without driveline modification. The kit allows the installation of 33-inch tires with ease. It comes with front and rear spacers, a front track bar bracket, bumpstop extensions, and complete instructions. System can be ordered with Full-Traction 5100 series hydraulic shocks or M-Force Gas Monotube shocks. Information: Full-Traction Suspension, 661.398.9585,

’09-’11 Ford F-150
Fabtech’s 2-inch leveling system for the ’09-’11 F-150 utilizes front 6061 aluminum billet spacers that work with the factory coilover shock assemblies. This provides a friendly stocklike ride with additional front lift to help level the vehicle front to rear for clearance of 33-inch-tall tires. The billet spacers are designed for maximum height without creating ball-joint or tie-rod bind when the stock suspension is cycling. Information: Fabtech Performance Suspensions, 909.597.7800,
