In some cases, the T-case mount can be lowered to bring the T-case down closer to the axle level after lift is added. You get lift to make room for larger tires, but dropping the T-case mount eats into some of your gained ground clearance. Usually, the factory driveshafts can be retained for reasonable lifts and the joint angles kept a bit shallower. This Rough Country kit is an example of a simple drop solution.
