Use two of the smaller U-bolts to loosely secure the tie-rod bracket to the tie rod and sandwich the bushings as before. You may need to cut the length of the inner U-bolt for clearance when screwing on the nuts. Align the brackets to minimize shock twist and to clear the differential housing. Tighten the axle bracket, then move the tie-rod bracket until 4 to 4.5 inches of shaft is extended, then tighten the tie-rod bracket to complete the installation. Retighten all the bolts after the first 100 miles and after every off-road trip.
