In this case, there was more breakage than just a spit-out cap. The inner axle also snapped. We were lucky enough to be able to fish it out with this magnetic rod. This break occurred when the Bronco's C6 automatic transmission cavitated because of an extreme angle. The only way to get fluid back into the tranny was to rev it and when it suddenly engaged, the load shock was too much for the axle.
