The rear was cake. All we had to do was buy some spring perches and a new GM brake line. We cut the original perches off, set the new ones on the axle with the U-bolts loosely pinching them to the springs, and then set the pinion angle (on the ground) prior to fully welding the spring perches in place. We also used Sky’s heavy-duty S-10 shackles that were longer, giving us more lift and room for more rear suspension flex. The shocks bolted on—literally. By some stroke of luck the shock mounts on the Waggy’s Dana 44 rear axle lined up with the S-10’s upper shock mounts. We got Rancho Pro Series remote reservoir shocks in place that measure just under 13 inches of travel.
